Dr. Don Pigozzi




Dr. Don Pigozzi received his doctorate from UC Berkeley in 1970 under the direction of Alfred Tarski. He was a faculty member of the Mathematics Department from 1972 until he retired in 2002. His research area was algebra and logic. Not long after coming to Iowa State University he became involved in the developing application of symbolic logic in computer science. He held the position of Adjunct Professor for several years in the Computer Science Department. He collaborated with various members of that department in research on programming language specification and logic programming. In addition to normal service to the Department, he served one term as Coordinator of Graduate Studies, one semester on the College Dean Search Committee, and several years on the College Promotion and Tenure Committee, the last year as Chair.
