Pablo Raúl Stinga, assistant professor of mathematics, was selected by Lathisms as the Oct. 14 Mathematician of the Day during a special campaign featuring Latinxs and Hispanics in mathematical sciences.
Lathisms was founded in 2016 to showcase the contributions of Latinx and Hispanic mathematicians during Hispanic Heritage Month, which is celebrated in the United States September 15 – October 15 every year. The 2018 Lathisms calendar features the contributions of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early career mathematicians. Stinga was honored for his contributions to the field of mathematics and his efforts in advocating for diversity and inclusion.
