Mathematics Faculty Honored at 2025 LAS Fall Convocation

Two faculty members from the Department of Mathematics were recognized for their outstanding contributions at the 2025 College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Fall Convocation and Awards Ceremony, held on September 4 in the Memorial Union’s Durham Great Hall.

Dr. Ruoyu Wu received the LAS Award for Early Achievement in Research, honoring his impactful contributions to mathematical research early in his academic career. His work in analysis and probability has already garnered national attention and continues to elevate the department’s research profile.

Dr. Pablo Raúl Stinga was awarded the LAS Award for Mid-Career Research, recognizing his sustained excellence and leadership in mathematical research. Dr. Stinga’s work in partial differential equations and harmonic analysis has significantly advanced the field and inspired both students and colleagues.

The Department of Mathematics congratulates both faculty members on these well-deserved honors and celebrates their continued dedication to excellence in research and education.
