Gamma Iota Sigma, the only international business fraternity for students of insurance, risk management and actuarial science, has approved a charter chapter at Iowa State University, thanks to the efforts of Carter Kemmet (’17 statistics), Rahul Parsa, senior lecturer in the Department of Supply Chain and Information Systems in the College of Business, and Xuan Hien Nguyen, assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics.
The charter will open this fall. The Department of Mathematics has provided financial support through a generous donation from Mrs. Bierbaum to the mathematics department targeted towards undergraduate education. The donation included money for creating the Gamma Iota Sigma chapter and paying the first year fees for all students who want to join this year.
