Four math faculty members receive 2019 College of Liberal Arts and Science awards

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) announced the selection of outstanding faculty and staff for the 2019 LAS awards; and four of the award winners are faculty members in the Department of Mathematics.

Each year, the college solicits nominations of exceptional faculty and staff for consideration.

Congratulations to the following award recipients, who will receive their awards at the LAS Fall Convocation September 9, 2019 at the ISU Memorial Union:

LAS Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Introductory Teaching
James Cliber, Lecturer, Department of Mathematics

LAS Award for Mid-Career Achievement in Research
Michael Young, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics

LAS Award for Inclusive Excellence
Pablo Raul Stinga, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics

LAS Award for Outstanding Achievement in Research
Hailiang Liu, Professor, Department of Mathematics
