Title: Quantitative ergodicity of random perturbations of Hamiltonian dynamics.
Abstract: We discuss the problem of quantifying convergence to equilibrium for small, random perturbations of Hamiltonian systems. While the problem is natural from both the perspective of Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) and the anomalous dissipation phenomenon in fluid dynamics, rigorous results on this topic are rare and are restricted to specific examples. In this talk, we will present a historical overview of this problem and discuss recent progress in this direction.
