In line with our discussions of effective teaching of mathematics, we have considered what the Department identifies in its governance document (p. 52). We also see the statements of aspiration the University displays in the strategic plan.
In this week’s seminar we will consider what CELT says are ways to document effectiveness of teaching.
When considering both the Department’s list and CELT’s list,
-what specific evidence can you identify/provide now as demonstrating effectiveness in your teaching of mathematics?
-what would you like to be able to provide about your effectiveness of your teaching of mathematics? What resources do you need to help you accomplish this?
-what is one thing you can do yet this semester that would count as teaching evidence from the instructor?
(If time permits, we can discuss evidence from peers and from students, as well as look at the link for the High-Impact Practices).
