Title: Some linear and non-linear dispersal models in mathematical biology – and what good are they?
Abstract: Species dispersal is ubiquitous in ecological systems. In this talk we present recent results on linear and non-linear dispersal models, formulated via ODE patch systems, as well as spatially explicit or PDE systems. We discuss applications of our results to control efforts for invasive pests in the advent of habitat fragmentation and climate change, as well as to cardiac health.
