Bio
Elijah Stines is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics. He received his B.S. in Mathematics and Psychology from the University of South Dakota and his Ph.D. in Mathematics at Iowa State University, under the advice of Jonathan D.H. Smith. His primary research interest is in the area of algebra, particularly factorization theory and order theory. In the classroom, he is interested in incorporating computer programming and technology to enable students to leverage the power of computation and more fully understand mathematics. Elijah’s primary goal in instructing pre-service and in-service teachers is to give them the means to share the beauty of mathematics with their own students.
