It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Don Pigozzi, a long-time member of the Department of Mathematics at Iowa State University.

Don was born on June 29, 1935 in Oakland, California. Following in the footsteps of his older brother Leo, he enrolled in U.C. Berkeley in 1953. He earned a B.S. in Physics in 1958, and, after a stint in the armed forces, a Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1970.
