Bio
Scott Jean earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1993. Scott began his career with EMC
as an intern and has enjoyed working in various areas advancing toward his current role as
president and CEO. He has served as actuary, vice president and chief actuary, and executive
vice president of finance and strategy. Additionally, Scott is chairman and chief executive officer
of EMC National Life, an EMC affiliate offering life insurance products. Scott is a fellow of the
Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. As a graduate
of Iowa State University, he is also a proud Cyclone!
Scott was awarded the Department of Mathematics Distinguished Alumni Award in 2023.
